Know Your Limit is a budgeting app designed to help users understand what they can spend until payday.
Know Your Limit stores your budgeting information on your own device. This may include information you enter such as income, bills, spending, payday details, extra cash, and balance checks.
This data is stored locally on your device or browser. It is not sent to us, stored on our servers, or shared with third parties by Know Your Limit.
The app includes an export backup feature. If you choose to export a backup, you are responsible for where you save or share that file, such as Google Drive, email, or local storage.
Know Your Limit does not require you to create an account.
Know Your Limit does not use advertising, analytics tracking, or third-party marketing trackers.
The app may use basic browser or device features needed for app functionality, such as local storage and file export/import. These are used only to support the features of the app.
Automatic Spending Capture (Android only) is optional. If enabled, KYL uses Android Notification Access to identify supported purchase notifications from payment or banking apps. Exact supported parsers can ask you before adding a transaction. Some verified bank apps without an exact parser may create review-only evidence, such as a redacted notification template and one detected GBP amount, which you must inspect and edit in KYL before anything affects your money data. Processing happens on your device. KYL does not log in to your bank or use Open Banking. Unrelated notifications are ignored. Raw notification text, notification titles, card details and account information are not uploaded and are not stored in normal KYL data, History, backup or export. Only transaction details you explicitly add—such as amount, merchant or person, timestamp and a duplicate-prevention identifier—are stored locally as part of your KYL data. You can turn the feature off in KYL and revoke Notification Access in Android settings.
Know Your Limit is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
You can remove your app data by clearing the app/browser data or uninstalling the app. You should export a backup first if you want to keep your data.
